The Bardiya National Park stretches over 968 kms² on the plains of Terai in the western Nepal. It is one of the most undisturbed sanctuary of wildlife in the country. The park is located on the eastern bank of Karnali River in the district of Bardia. It has been established in 1988.

Nearly 70% of the park is covered with vegetation (forest, grass, savannah…) which makes the happiness of the local fauna and the 30 species of mammals registered : the Bengal Tiger, deers, leopards… In 1986, the One Horned Rhinoceros has been reintroduced successfully in the reserve. This is also in this park that we can find the two last herds of wild Asian Elephants. 200 species of birds are registered in Bardia.
