Visa of Bhutan
Except Indian citizens, no foreigner is allowed to enter and stay in Bhutan without a valid visa.
The Bhutanese Tourist Visa can only be obtained after processing by the travel/tour agent through the Tourism Authority of Bhutan (TAB). A clearance number for visa is issued and only once the visa has been cleared can visitors travel to Bhutan.
The visa is stamped in the passport on arrival at:
- the International Airport in Paro
- the Phuentsholing road entry point
Visas to Bhutan are not issued from any Bhutan embassies abroad.
Bhutan visa must be applied for a minimum of 30 days before travel. For processing visa, we need to have the full passport details of the clients (full name, nationality, date of birth, passport number, date of issue and expiry...).
The cost of the Bhutanese visa is US$20 + US$10 for the Bhutanese Tourism Development.
The visa is only issued to tourists once the trip is booked with full payment.
A combination of overland and air travel is possible. All overland travel requires an Indian visa.
