-- Trekking In Bhutan

Dagala Thousand Lakes Trek

Dagala Thousand Lakes trek leads up to plenty of beautiful high altitude mountain lakes and provides stunning views of the whole Bhutanese Himalayan range as well as Kanjenjunga (3rd highest mountain of the world, Sikkim). The trek starts from the beautiful Gynekha village with a short descent down to the river before reaching a huge rock platform from where there is a picturesque view of the valley below. The trail winds through flowers and wild asparagus in the spring making the meadows refreshing and inspiring and exposes great views of Dagala range dotted with meadows and yak herders camp. As the trail scales up along the western side of Dala Tsho up to a saddle at 4,520m there are majestic views of great Himalayan peaks including Mt. Everest (Nepal), Kanchenjunga (Sikkim), Jomolhari, Jichu Drake, Tshering Gang, Khangbum, Masang Gang, Tsende Gang and Gangche Ta. The final day involves the crossing of several passes including Tale La (4,180m) before descending back to Talakha Gompa for an overnight with great views of Bhutan's capital Thimphu
