The trek is the old walking route from Thimphu to Punakha and passes through some of the beautiful Villages exposing great views of other small rural villages and monasteries including Phajoding monastery lying just above Thimphu. Taking the trekkers through thick forests, villages and rice fields it exposes stunning views of Thinleygang village and Talo Monastery The best seasons for this trek are March to May and September to November. But due to the low altitudes, the trek is possible throughout the whole winter.
