ITINERARY OF THE TOUR
Day 1 :
Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur - 50 minutes and transfer to the border - 34 kms. After formalities, we drive to Darjeeling (2040m) - 113 kms.
Night in Darjeeling.
Day 2 :
Your day starts with an early sunrise view from the Tiger Hill. The view from this point is unforgettable for colours changing from grey to pink to luminous gold over Himalayas.
After breakfast, you visit the Tibetan Self-Help Refugee Centre where you can see Tibetan craftsmen making traditional items such as carpets, woolen boots or wood carvings. Later on, you will be transferred to the Himalayan Mountaineering Institute, the house of Late Tenzing Norgay Sherpa who first climbed Mt Everest with Hillary in 1953.
During afternoon, you visit Ghoom Monastery which enshrines an image of “Coming Buddha” and the Bengal Natural History Museum.

Day 3 :
This morning you visit the Lloyd's Botanical Garden which has notable collections of orchids, cacti and succulents and the Padmaji Naidu Zoological Park which is the first South Asian zoo to breed Snow Leopard and Siberian Tiger.
After lunch, your journey to Gangtok (1437m), the capital city of Sikkim, starts - 98 kms.

Day 4 :
Your day starts with the visit of Enchey Monastery, 200 years old. This Gompa was built on a site blessed by Lama Druptab Karpo, a master known for his power of flying. Later on, you discover the Governement Institute of Cottage Industries where you can watch students being taught the traditional art of Thangkha paintings alog with weaving, wood carving and carpet making.
During afternoon you drive through picturesque terracec fields to Rumtek Monastery, the seat of His Holiness, the Gyalwa Karmapa, head of the Kagyupa Sect.

Day 5 :
In the morning, you are transferred to Kalimpong (1250m) - 77 kms.
During afternoon, you visit the Tharpa Choling Monastery, belonging to the Gelugpa Sect and the Zong Dog Palri Fo Brang Gompa also known as Durpin Monastery which contains all 108 volumes carried by Dalai Lama in his exile. Later on you are welcomed at Gauripur House, one of the favourite place of the great Indian poet, Rabindranath Tagore, from where he wrote many of his works.

Day 6 :
This morning, you discover flowers nurseries. Kalimpong produces 80% of India’s gladioli and is a significant orchid-growing area. From here, flowers and cacti are exported to many cities across the world.
This afternoon, you have free time to visit Kalimpong Bazaar and do your last shopping to buy souvenirs.

Drive from Kalimpong to Bhadrapur - 132 kms.
Night in Bhadrapur.

Fly from Bhadrapur to Kathmandu - 50 minutes.
