Jungle Safari in Nepal
Nepal is famous for its high mountains but it is also known for the wide plains in the south of the country. The tropical jungles of the Terai preserve some of the best wildlife habitat in the subcontinent.
Nepal has 16 National Parks, Wildlife Reserves and Conservation Areas, occupying 16% of its total geographical area. Among them, Chitwan National Park, Bardia National Park and Koshi Tappu Wildlife Reserve are the most popular destinations for jungle activities in Nepal.
What to bring?
- Binoculars, torch light and camera
- Insects repellent, anti-diarrhea tablets, anti-histamine, sunscreen, sunglasses and a cap
- Comfortable clothes and shoes for an easy movement during the safari. We advise colours in harmony with the jungle, avoid flashing colours. During the winter months, from November to February, sweaters and jackets are needed because the mornings and evenings are cold. During the monsoon months, from June to August, one should carry waterproof jackets and an extra pair of shoes. Moreover, The Terai jungles are infested with leeches hence one should carry insects repellent to keep them away. Salt or a lighted cigarette will make them fall off. Pulling them off could infect the wound.
