Mera Peak

Mera: Highest small scale climbing peak of Nepal

Mera is the highest of the permitted small scale climbing peaks from where one can see 5 of the 6 highest mountains of the world; Everest, Kanchenjunga, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyo. There are many approaches to Mera; some are easy and some require the crossing of high and difficult passes, making a trek to the peak a real mountaineering adventure for which effort is rewarded with spectacular scenery and ultimately one of the finest viewpoints in Nepal. The standard route from the north involves little more than high altitude glacier walking whereas the west and south face offer difficult technical routes.
