Day 01 :
Arrival Kathmandu / Transfer
to hotel and stay overnight. |
Day 02 : Kathmandu to
Darjeeling
Depart from Kathmandu and
fly to Bhadrapur Airport (50
minutes) in Nepal side or
fly from Delhi to Bagdora
Airport (50 minutes) in
Indian side. After arrival
our journey proceeds to
Queen of Hill stations;
Darjeeling through the Hill
Cart Road constructed during
the British period. Evening
free to gather experience
about this town which is
world famous for its tea
specially called the
“Champagne of the East”. |
Day 03 :
Sight seeing in Darjeeling
Early morning drive to Tiger
Hill to enjoy the
breathtaking view of color
changes during sunrise over
snowcapped peaks of Mt.
Kanchendzonga Range visit
Batasia Loop, Ghoom
Monastery, Tibetan Self-Help
Refugee Centre, Himalayan
Mountaineering Institute,
Padmaja Naidu Zoological
Park. Enter into the world
famous tea gardens to watch
the tea plantations. In the
evening walk around the Mall
Area, the heart of the town.
Stay overnight at Hotel.

Day 04 :
Darjeeling to Pemyangts –
Pelling (West Sikkim)
After breakfast transfer to
Pemyangtse - Pelling (112km-
5 hours drive) a calm and
quiet hamlet on the lap of
the Himalaya via; Melli
Check post, Jorethang and
Legship. Stay overnight at
hotel. |
Day 05 : Sight
seeing in and around Pelling
Early morning short trail to
Sangachoeling Monastery
where you will get the
enchanting view of Mt.
Kanchendzonga Range (The 3rd
highest mountain in the
world) from the top of the
monastery. After breakfast
visit one of the significant
monasteries in Sikkim,
Pemyangste; The Royal
Monastery (1705 A. D.).
After lunch short drive to
Kecheopalri Lake which is
called by the locals is
“Wishing Lake” surrounded by
the dense forest. Drive back
to Pelling and overnight at
Hotel. |
Day 06 :
Pelling to Gangtok
In the morning drive to
Gangtok the capital city of
Sikkim via Legship, Kewzing
and Singtam (112 km.) 5-6
hours. River Teesta will be
your journey mate. You have
free time to visit Gangtok
city and overnight stay at
hotel. |
Day 07 :
Sight seeing in Gangtok
Gangtok literarily means
‘Hill Top’ was established
in 1716. Interesting
sightseeing areas are Enchay
Monastery (212 years old)
built on a site blessed by
Lama Druptab Karpo, a
tantric master known for his
power of flying, the
Directorate of Tibetology,
Chorten etc. In the
afternoon visit to Rumtek
Monastery (24 km.) built in
1717 AD. Commissioned by his
holiness the 16th incarnate
of the original Gyalwa
Karmapa bof Tibet and head
of the Kagyupa sect of
Buddhism, this lavishly
built monastery is said to
be a replica of the Tsurphu
Monastery in Tibet. |
Day 08 : Gangtok
- Tsamgo Lake – Gangtok
Half frozen till mid April,
the oval – shaped glacier
Tsamgo Lake (3780 meters) is
one of the most interesting
sightseeing destinations in
Sikkim. It is situated only
40 km north towards the
historic Sikkim – Tibet
border Nathu La (14,200
feet) from Gangtok. During
your visit to this lake you
will encounter mystical
environs of these lofty
heights and the splash of
thousand of blooms in
summer. This area is an
ideal habitat for red panda.
It is recommended that the
best season to visit this
lake is March to late May
and September to mid
December.
The Yaks embellished with
their “Welcome to Sikkim”
headbands, are popular for a
short ride near the lake.
It is advisable to leave
around 9:00 and be back in
time for a late lunch before
fogs descend. After the
lunch break you are free to
stroll around the Gangtok
city doing shopping and
buying souvenirs. |
Day 09 :
Depart from Gangtok and
drive 6-7 hrs back to
Bhadrapur Airport via Rangpo,
Siliguri and Jalpaiguri.
