Upper Mustang Trekking
The Upper Mustang Trekking introduces you to the ancient cave civilization and the rural communities of Mustang. Often referred as the Little Tibet of Nepal, the Upper Mustang is known as the Forbidden Kingdom. Mustang was only opened to the trekkers in 1991. The Department of Immigration issues only a small number of special permits per year to protect the local Tibetan traditions from outside influence as well as protect the environment. Upper Mustang Trekking is a popular destination for travelers who would like to explore very remote areas of Nepal.
